Top 5 real-love stories in Bollywood

Where did they eat? What were they wearing? Were they holding hands? Did he buy her a diamond?................
Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor

Where did they eat? What were they wearing? Were they holding hands? Did he buy her a diamond?

From time immemorial, celebrity couples have attracted unnatural attention and unending curiosity. And with the advancement in media and technology, this fascination has only grown bigger.

And now it seems Bollywood is following in Hollywood's footsteps (remember Tom-Kat and Brangelina?) of reel to real life couplings. Sit back as rediff.com profiles the top five most-publicised relationships of the moment.

Even though they co-starred in films like LOC: Kargil and Omkara, cupid struck only recently on the sets of Yash Raj Films' Tashan.

Scoop of their hook-up came close on the heels of persistent rumours revealing cracks in Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur's three year-old relationship. Apparently, the Jab We Met co-stars broke up at some point during the filming of the film.

Bebo found love soon enough in the charming Chote Nawab. Ever since Saif spilled the beans on his equation with Kareena at a fashion event, the media had had a field day reporting daily tidbits on Bollywood's 'It' couple -- from Saif's tattoo of Bebo's name on his forearm to jet-setting to Goa on Valentine's Day -- it's all for public consumption.

Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Both Abhishek (his high-profile engagement and subsequent break-up with Karisma Kapoor) and Aishwarya's (who reportedly dated Salman Khan and Viveik Oberoi) past relationships invited ample media scrutiny.
Nothing, however, could have prepared us for the Abhi-Ash phenomenon. Love bloomed on the sets of J P Dutta's lacklustre costume drama, Umrao Jaan, and the moment they declared their engagement, it was breaking news. From what she wore to what car they drove in, the dashing duo had everyone's curious side up. Not to mention, the couple's frequent visits to all places religious.
Their marriage, of course, with 'Pa' Amitabh Bachchan playing the host became a LIVE event covered relentlessly by every channel and publication. Their long honeymoon and brief appearance at the 2007 Cannes Films Festival hogged ample limelight as well. It's almost one year since they got married but there are still no signs of disinterest within the paparazzi.

John Abraham-Bipasha Basu

The sexy duo realised they have a real-time chemistry whilst creating a reel one for Pooja Bhatt's Jism. John and Bipasha's relationship has survived more than half a decade through nagging rumours of a split. But the duo remains steady as ever.
In an industry where most actors stick to a 'no comments' stance about their respective partner, these two have been refreshingly outspoken about their feelings towards each other. Whether it's movies or endorsements, they make a hot team.
So what's new? Fresh buzz on an impending marriage ever since Bips decided to sport a whopping rock, which beau John gifted to her.

 Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif

Age difference notwithstanding, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are one of Bollywood's leading glam couple. They make a cute and successful on-screen jodi as well.
Although Katrina is discreet when it comes to matters of the heart, the Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya twosome are often photographed together. And so news is made every time Sallu is said to be recommending Kats to filmmakers or she flying all the way to Jodhpur jail to support him (when he was held in prison for hunting endangered species) or reports of either a secret shaadi, public squabble or rumoured break-up -- you get the drift.

 Preity Zinta-Ness Wadia

Unlike Bollywood's other power couples, the effervescent Preity Zinta and the shy Bombay Dyeing scion, Ness Wadia are relatively low-profile.
Neither do they deny each others presence nor go overboard singing paens of affection. Having dated for three years, it's but natural for the media to push for marriage dates.
Knowing PZ, she'll surely tie the knot when she feels like it, speculation be damned. Instead the two have joined hands as partners winning the bid to own the Mohali team at the much-hyped Indian Premiere League. Who says you can't mix business with pleasure?
Runner-ups Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are most likely to agree. The newly-turned couple recently featured together in a beverage commercial and are presently working on Siddharth Anand's Bachna Ae Haseenon.
